Hello! I’m Ruth Duggar, a passionate mental health counselor with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. I’ve always had a heart for helping others, dating back to my childhood when friends would come to me with their struggles. That passion led me to pursue a career in counseling, where I can provide people with the tools they need to thrive in their mental health journey.

I find cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to be a natural fit for my brain, and I use it regularly in my own life. It’s one of those “why didn’t someone tell me this sooner?” tools that can make a big difference. I’m pre-licensed and on track to complete my hours for licensure later this year. I’ve received training in trauma, ADHD, BPD, and anxiety—and I’m excited to dive into grief work next.

Some of my favorite topics to tackle in the therapy room include negative self-talk, setting boundaries, and understanding cognitive biases. I believe the way we speak to ourselves is crucial, and it’s often accompanied by a lot of unnecessary negativity. Let’s work together to change that!

When I’m not sitting with clients, I’m a proud mom of three adult children, a wife to a computer whiz, and a classical violinist. I’m also a yarn enthusiast and a coffee lover. Plus, I enjoy geeking out over neuro-psychology and new techniques in the counseling field.

If you’re looking for support in your mental health journey or have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to help!
